Katrina Kaif (03)

Katrina Kaif was born on July 16, 1984, in Hong Kong, grew up in Hawaii and then moved to London. Even at the young age of 14, she got modeling offers and started out by modeling for a jewelry campaign. She was attracted to her father’s native land and the moment she landed in India she was flooded with modeling assignments.

She started off with photographer Atul Kasbekar. Later she got offers from Lakme, LG, Cola, Fevicol, Pantene, Veet, Kodak, and L’Oreal. She was chosen as the face of the year for the Lakme India Fashion Week (2005). The Lakme commercial made her very popular. Soon Kaizad Gustad, the director of ‘Boom’ noticed her and offered her a role in the film. Since it was the role of a model, she promptly agreed.

Katrina Kaif, one of the most sought after actress in Bollywood, debuted with a bang through ‘Boom’, a movie about models getting caught up with the underworld. Though the movie bombed, people couldn’t easily forget her angelic face and voluptuous figure. Not many have gained the fans and popularity as a new entrant as Katrina has done.

Katrina Kaif is half Indian and half British. Her father is and NRI and her mother is English, which makes her poor at Hindi. Initially critics were very harsh on her for her poor Hindi. But she has worked hard on her Hindi and started taking dancing lessons—both very essential to survive in the industry. Now she has started dubbing on her own. She has done few movies down south and is a popular face there already.

Although she wears bold outfits on films and ads, she is very particular about her clothes and she feels more comfortable in not-so-revealing clothes in personal life. And unlike others in her field she absolutely hates wearing make up.

Although she has been seeing Salman Khan for sometime now, she still refuses to talk about him in the media. She has made it clear that her personal life is not meant to be known to all and that no one has a right to pass any kind of judgment on it.

She has lot of exciting projects lined up. One of them is ‘Partner’ with boyfriend Salman Khan and Govinda. She is also doing ‘Apne’ in which real life father and sons Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol all stars together in the movie, for the first time. Then there is Anees Bazmee’s ‘Welcome’ with Akshay Kumar. Another film with Akshay Kumar ‘Namaste, London’ is all set to release on March.

Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat (Hindi: मल्लिका शेरावत, born October 24, 1981 as Reema Lamba in Rohtak, Haryana, India) is a popular Indian actress and model. Today, she is considered the sex symbol of India.

Personal life
She worked as an air hostess prior to entering films and it was around this time that she married a pilot, Karan Singh Gill. They are now divorced.

Sherawat's birth name is Reema Lamba; she says that adopted the screen name of "Mallika", meaning "empress" to avoid confusion with other actresses named Reema. "Sherawat" is her mother's maiden name. She has stated that she uses her mother's maiden name because of all the support her mother has provided for her. There is also a controversy regarding her age. A news channel in India had alleged that she was already a graduate before starting to work as an airhostess and hence she can't be as young as she claims. She has also a degree in philosophy from Miranda House, Delhi University.

Career
Mallika's onscreen debut was in Lak Tunoo, a music video by Surjit Bindrakhia.[1] She attracted wide notice with her appearance in the 2003 movie Khwahish. By Indian standarts the movie was quite racy, however it was known for its naturalistic and realistic topic. In 2004, she starred in Murder, a film inspired by Hollywood's Unfaithful that again challenged Indian film standards. She received a nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards ceremony for her performance in Murder. The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.[2]

Since then, Sherawat has been known for her courage to express her opinions in public[citation needed] and went on to make headlines through her outfits and blunt statements.[citation needed]

She also made news when she won a small role in a Jackie Chan movie, The Myth, where she again appeared in revealing costumes. She made a widely publicized appearance at the Cannes Film Festival to promote The Myth.

Since her debut, Mallika was often accused of simply being a sexy woman without talent. However, her performance in the 2006 film Pyaar Ke Side Effects co-starring Rahul Bose won her praise from around the industry,[3] and the film also garnered decent collections.[4] The movie stamped Mallika as an actress who started off as an item girl and joined the main stream later on.

She is now beginning to work in the Kollywood (Tamil) film industry as well. She plays the second fiddle in Dasavatharam starring Kamal Haasan, Asin and Jayapradha.

Her latest project is a 10-minute role in Himesh Reshammiya's Aap Ka Suroor - The Real Love Story, which has been called a "vampish role".[5] Mallika herself has protested, saying that it is a negative role but not a vamp role.[5] With Aap Ka Suroor she has become the most expensive "Item Girl",[6] as she charged Rs. 1.5 crore[6] for her Item number in the movie.

Sherawat has been voted as one of Asia's 100 most beautiful people by the Hong Kong based fashion and beauty magazine, Cover.[7]
